Old and Jewish Town Tour (3 hours)
Full description of the tour
The Old Town, Stare Mesto, in the collective imagination is the heart of Prague. For centuries it was the economic center of the city, crossed by merchants from all over the world. Its past wealth is demonstrated by its splendid Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque palaces. On the edge of the Old City was the Jewish City, a former ghetto, today one of the most elegant Prague districts, after its demolition and reconstruction at the beginning of the 1900s.
Our tour will take you to discover the oldest history of the city and some of its most important symbols, including the astronomical clock and the Charles Bridge. Walking through the alleys of the Old Town and Josefov (the former Jewish City), where history and legend still blend today, we will tell you about the deeds of Charles IV, the struggle of Jan Hus, the wisdom and magic of Rabbi Low and of his Golem, the desperation of the iron knight, the friendship between Mozart and Casanova, the torments of Kafka and many other stories ...
